  I have shopped here many times and the staff there has always been friendly and i never had any problems what so ever with any of the merchandise ive purchased there. on my last visit my daughter fell in love with a skirt there that came in a variety of colors for $22.50. We decided on a pink one as well as some accessories and puchased them.our plan was to come back each week and buy a different color each time. At the time the staff was again very friendly . My daughter proceeded to wear the skirt one time and we then washed it in two lingerie bags on gentle cycle . When we took it out of the lingerie bags the skirt had come apart at the seams, the elastic had started to fray and there were numerous holes in it. We have several skirts that we have had that are over a year old that have held up better than this newly purchased one that had only been worn once. So i brought it back to to the store and spoke with an elderly woman .before i had even told her anything i immediately noticed a complete change in her demeanor from the previous week. I told her that i bought it week ago , it had been worn and washed once and proceeded to show her the damaged areas. I then realized that i had forgotten my receipt at home and she told me that even with a receipt she couldn't do anything without the tags . I told her i didn't think i had them any longer , just the receipt. She again told me without the tags she couldnt do anything. So i proceeded to drive to the opposite end of town to my house and found both the tags and receipt and went back to the store. As i walked back in the store i was greated by another employee who was very friendly. I then walked up to the same elderly woman who was seated behind the register. I told her "yeahhhhhhhhhhh !! i found the receipt and the tags. I didnt think i would , but i found both." She then told me there was nothing she could do. I reiterated the fact that she had said previously that i had to have the receipt and the tags and that i had them in hand. Mind you i am currently disabled so i would not have driven across town for a receipt and tags had i not been told Originally that they were needed. She stated again "the skirts been worn" . I told her that i was aware of that but that it was obviously defective as that it was only one week old and had only been worn once .i told her that i wasn't asking to return it or even exchange it, but that i was hoping for a discount on purchasing another as my daughter loved the style.i honestly was just going to chalk up the first purchase as being a defect and not the skirt it self. She told me again, "its been worn i cant return it to the company like that" . I told her again that I didn't expect to return or exchange it , i was just hoping for a little bit of a discount on purchasing another. . She just kept saying theres nothing i can do its been worn . I told her thank you and that i guess I would not be returning in the future. Before working in my current field of optometry i had worked in retail for years .i dont feel that i was asking too much nor would i ever dream of speaking to a customer in that manner. Maybe i would have taken the news better had she ever gotten up from her chair, shown a smile at any point or even apologized at any time. I felt like i was being spoken down to or like i was a small child. Usually shops in a small town are known for going that extra mile however not in this case. I will no longer return to this business nor would i recommend them to any one again. Its a shame that so many good experiences can be ruined by one horrible experience.
